Hope Where There Was None

Mom and Dad were right; now is not a moment quite too soon. After many months of picking up the guitar and fumbling around, I think I'm actually playing. I am so thankful for whatever woke me up and made me start grabbing the guitar each day. If progress is the point, and I believe it is, then I am well on my way. I played my first kitchen concert for my husband, Robert, yesterday and was surprised to be somewhat pleased with the sounds that resulted. I now know chords and notes and strumming patterns and even a few picking techniques. I'm no master, but suddenly there is hope where, previously, there was none. My relationship with and understanding of music has grown so much because of the guitar. Dad's influence is evident, and who knows? Maybe I'll even produce my own songs someday. This journey is all about #playing, #progress, #goals, and #hope.
